JOHN GALLIANO READY TO WEAR FALL WINTER 2015-2016 PARIS FASHION WEEK

By  |

For John Galliano’s maison creative director Bill Gaytten showed autumn- winter 2015-2016 ,8 March in Paris , the main motif was Art Deco.

It isn’t new for style of maison but has a visual vibrancy that actual today.“ I approached the collection with an eye for graphic impact, sumptuous surface detail and a fresh focus on silhouette , “ said Gaytten. “ This is not derivative Art Deco. Rather , it expresses a distinct joie de vivre that comes from merging a youthful look with brilliant craftsmanship, which remains a point of Pride”.

Designer focused on delicate embroidery bedecks illustrations of whimsical fishes. These were a recurrent motif, embroidered on a one-shouldered evening dress or a short, cape-draped shift. Skirts opening of leg were balanced by boots that bring new edge to the classic biker. Metallic silver jacquards were everywhere, hot in miniskirts, fragile in chiffon blouses. Elevated parkas for everyday wear offer a wardrobe counterpoint to a grouping of special occasion gowns. Hats, conceived as always by Stephen Jone. So Galliano’s theme was the long coat over the short skirt.

Textures are : trimming mink and fox, boucle mohair, lame-laced jacquards;

Colours are: orchid purples, poppy reds, sand and black;
“Merging a youthful look with brilliant craftsmanship,” Bill Gaytten  explained his approach.
