STRATEAS CARLUCCI MEN’S FASHION FALL WINTER 2016-2017 PARIS FASHION WEEK

Creative collaboration by Mario-Luca Carlucci and Peter Strateas presented fall-winter 2016 collection for Strateas Carlucci fashion brand 20 of January , in Paris. The label debuted in the 2012 in Paris. The Melbourne-based brand won multiple awards last year including the Tiffany & Co National Designer Award and the International Woolmark Prize Australia Regional Finals. Combining their backgrounds in communications and industrial design, the pair have cultivated a strong aesthetic with a focus on construction and tailoring, that references utilitarian elements and utilises the best quality fabrics and unique techniques. The end result is a modern label whose DNA is grounded in structure and minimalism.
Staying true to their strong urban signature but lightening up somewhat for fall-winter collection, the collection entitled Imago employed masterful tailoring and luxurious fabrics, concept of oppositions is influencing the designs in the combination of sportswear finishes and exceptional tailoring. The collection, featuring woolmark-certified pieces, maintains the brand’s signature duo masculine- feminine aesthetic and utilises playful fabric innovations, developed in partnership with The Woolmark Company.”Merino wool is an amazing fibre to work with. It allows for creative diversity, as the possibilities.This season, we created a graphic 3D knitted jacquard, which was a first for us. Opposed to using the knit in expected ways, we further explored our laminating method which we created for the International Woolmark Prize, and pushed the boundaries even further, resulting in heavy textural and graphic overcoats.”explained Mario-Luca Carlucci.
