SHIATZY CHEN READY-TO-WEAR FALL WINTER 2015-2016 PARIS FASHION WEEK

       Autumn – Winter collection 2015-2016 Shiatzy Chen named her collection “View of the Mountains” and manifested it 10 March in Paris. Concept : Baroque duchess steps into a Chinese landscape painting.

Short story showed us during defile is: The mountain gods recorded from the classic Chinese mythology “Classic of Mountains and Seas” had human-like personalities. Their human-like appearances could turn into half-beast-half-human creatures which led to the worship rituals in the earlier Chinese culture. It was widely believed that all creatures had souls and natural spirits. The love story of Shiva and Parvati (goddess from the Himalaya mountains) is one of the most beautiful legends from ancient India. In the western civilization, the Greek gods were born in the Olympus mountain where Zeus was the god of the mountain who ruled over other gods and human. All these tales depicted how the mountains had played vital roles in the shaping of both East and Western civilizations.
Season by season, defile by defile ,Shiatzy Chen continues to mix a classic Chinese elements with  modern aesthetics. H- line silhouettes, fitted top with bell-shaped skirt, mix of casual with formal wear are basis of designer’s work. I would like  to distinguish a lot of animal (rabbit and horse ) ,maple, gingko and leather floral prints on outfit. The exquisite handwork craftsmanship reflected on the intricate ribbon, camellia and forest print embroideries, embellishments.
The main fabrics are: lace, lacquered wool, woolen leather, woven knits with mountain-like patterns, woolen neoprene, fox fur, dual-tone brocade, organza, soft silk, cracked-grained leather, double-knitted tweeds, chiffon;
The main colours are: petal pink,  ivory fuchsia, khaki orange, mint , violet, green, black, burgundy, chrome.
