Elsa Schiaparelli Haute Couture Fall-Winter 2014/2015 Paris

 Marco Zanini in his second haute couture collection fall -winter 2014-2015 for legendary house Elsa Schiaparelli has shown a very Schiaparelli-style collection.Designer commented his work in this way: “To be honest, in my first season I was a little afraid. The legacy of the house is such a strong one and so many designers have quoted from it. Moderation is not Elsa’s formula! Her language is bold, provocative, sensational, even. Yet subtle and multilayered.” Surrealism – the main features of the work of Elsa Schiaparelli clearly is drawn in the collection by Marco Zanini.

Designer focused on atypical mixe of colours and exaggerated shoulder lines , also on spirited ,exuberant and delightful hats. “The hat is an integral part of the entire proportion and silhouette” Marco explained his vision. Designer was not afraid of prints and textile experiments that focused on the idea of urban creatures—dogs, squirrels, moths, pigeons, and even rats.

He described as Schiaparelli’s “smart humour”. Pink mohair coat with giant ES initials, silk velvet dress with three-dimensional flowers at the shoulder, monkey fur, asymmetrically draped evening dress , embroidered purple jumpsuit , black crocodile gloves were only part of the mosaic of this outstanding, unforgettable, incroyable and absolutment fétiche collection of Marco Zanini. “Schiaparelli is so vivid as an image in your mind. As a designer you really need to confront the dragon and go there” concluded designer.
