ISSEY MIYAKE MEN’S FASHION FALL WINTER 2016-2017 PARIS FASHION WEEK
Designer Yusuke Takahashi presented his fall-winter collection 2016-2017 for Issey Miyake Men, 21 of January in Paris. He is responsible for Issey Miyake’s menswear, worked on roomy shapes and coarse, layered surfaces which recalled Miyake’s own textile work in the early 1980s. This collection named “Neonomad”. According press release, designer wanted to indentified a new sence of elegance and comfort in creating a relaxed sophistication. By using rough materials combined with refined fibers, dusty colours touched with vivid ones, warm clothes with sporty silhouette, simple cheerful knits, this collection expresses the desire of contemporary man to return to the primal feeling of life.
Also, continuing his collaboration with photographers, Yusuke Takahashi printed some outfits and clutches with brightly colored thermographic images by Kenji Hirasawa. “Textile research, simple shapes and comfort for everyday life. The piece gone through research and development to suit everyday life of modern men. I hope I can continue my researches and travel around the world for great inspirations. My ambition is to renew Issey Miyake men style while keeping alive the heritage of Mr. Miyake” explained Yusuke Takashi. Designer confirmed his idea in this collection. “Neonomad” was inspired by Mongolia, where horses are the main means of transport. Designer illuminated his visual ” I am always looking for interesting fibre. So this time we tried to create very technical knitwear. For the first work I actually used horse hair in the knitwear, the horse hair gave it lightness”.
