AF VANDERVORST READY-TO-WEAR FALL WINTER 2015-2016 PARIS FASHION WEEK

 At the next stop our trip by parisian defiles is Peru. Designers of brand, An Vandervost and Filip Arickx transfered us to Andes Mountins. Collection autumn-winter 2015-2016 showed 5 March , in Paris inspired a trip of designers from there.

“In our Belgian way, we took out all the colors” said Ann Vandervorst. The performance piece “White Light, Paint It White” by Belgian artist Joris Van de Moortel is integrated into the show, as models and musicians alike are transformed to the strains of “White Light White Heat” by the Velvet Underground. Held at the Belgian ambassador to France’s residence, this was a chaotic affair where guests were offered their own face masks—and protective onesies, too—when they arrived. As the models emerged from behind a screen of the plastic sheeting that swathed the entire interior, Van de Moortel sprayed them, and the excellent band playing alongside him, with white paint from an industrial spray gun.

    Need to say, that  sculptural softness found throughout, as textiles are wrapped, laced and moulded around the feminine form. Natural fibres abound, with a profusion of organic textures underscored by the bold details of clothing, with giant whipstitch lacing defining the contours of stovepipe trousers, cuissard boots and slim blazers. Long and languid suiting meets the flared volumes of hand-tucked and pleated wool skirts, falling to the knee or past the ankle in pitch black, bright white, and a muted palette of grayscale tones. Brogue boots in rose jacquard, suede or calfskin are elevated on a stiletto heel. Never would have thought that since Peru is able to surprise and inspire..
